Greetings, fellow adventurers! Prepare yourselves for a tale of triumph, laughter, and a few unexpected twists as we embarked on a 5.6-mile jaunt around Northleach, beginning our journey at the historic Old Prison.
As we gathered at the starting point, our eyes were immediately drawn to a sleek Jaguar F-Type parked nearby—a fitting complement to our own stylish group. However, the real entertainment began when Greg attempted to park, much to the amusement of onlookers. Let’s just say parallel parking wasn’t his forte that day!
But fear not, dear readers, for our misadventures had only just begun. Enter Minella, the ever-loyal doggo, who had acquired a cling-on during our journey—an unexpected passenger that added a touch of humor to our trek.
Meanwhile, Lucy’s rush to join us from a night of partying in London left her and Oli both nursing hangovers—a testament to their dedication to the cause, if nothing else! And while Simon and Greg couldn’t join us for post-walk pub festivities, we raised a glass in their honor, enjoying lovely pints as we regaled each other with tales of our adventure.
Now, onto the highlights of our journey. Oli, ever the prankster, couldn’t resist the opportunity to “get his snake out” (don’t worry, folks, we’re talking about a harmless rubber snake here!). And Minella, our furry companion, delighted us all with her joyful swims in nearby streams—a sight to behold, indeed.
But no adventure is complete without a few tears, and Thea didn’t disappoint, shedding a few during our trek. Jon, bless his heart, was understandably stressed, but we rallied around them both, offering support and encouragement every step of the way.

And speaking of triumphs, let’s not forget Ashleigh, who conquered her walking fears and no longer clenched with every step—a true testament to the transformative power of the great outdoors.
As we wrapped up our journey, tired but exhilarated, we couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s events with fondness and laughter. Despite the challenges we faced, our bond as a walking group only grew stronger, leaving us eager for the next adventure that awaits.
So here’s to the winding paths, the unexpected detours, and the friendships forged along the way. Until our next escapade beckons, keep on trekking, dear friends, and may your adventures be as memorable as ours.
Cheers to the journey ahead!
